oh my god how long was this ask sitting here I am so sorry
hello, manon!! I know bamboo fun’s are usually the gateway drug to heavier tablet use but I never actually had the bamboo phase so I can’t report on how well they work? got a wacom graphire for christmas in sixth or seventh grade, heh.
the wacom family’s obviously pretty solid. I had an intuos3 up until recently that I adored, and it had lasted at least five years or so? but the cord started fritzing on me, and I didn’t have the cash to go wacom again (still don’t) so!! I got a monoprice for about $50 and it’s really great actually!!
only things I would say about it is that I miss being able to flip the pen around to erase things (the other end doesn’t act as a tip, unlike wacoms) and the downward edges are a little sharp? but those can be sanded or w/e
like this is really scraping the bottom of the complaint barrel, you know? I even had a problem with the pen (I thought it was the cord, it wasn’t) ten months after I’d bought it and they replaced the whole kit n caboodle for free, totally no hassle
so yeah!! sorry for the total novel, but there you go! I officially recommend monoprice tablets for the cash-strapped artist babies who Will Not Settle For Second Rate Shit

oh man, hi! thanks for coming around, heh
I’m a bit of both, really? I’ve been drawing since sixth grade (I was drawing before then too but I didn’t start keepin sketchbooks til then) and since then it’s been a good mix of self instruction, emulating artists I like, and some classwork. most high school and below art classes (and the first couple I took in college) are very repetitive (perspective, value, still life, tiny section of life drawing at the end, projects projects projects), so like? I do and don’t count classes, you know?
I recently took a life drawing class though and that was so so sooo great holy balls. if you get the opportunity to take a life drawing class fuckin do it you will not regret (probably, depending on the teacher maybe)
also hey if any of my followers are on fr, maybe give me a shout! username’s hauer, #84525

Hey guys! Sorry to send this out, but I’ve finally fallen into the “broke artist” category. (It was bound to happen eventually, let’s be honest).
So I’ve got a full-time job as a telemarketer at the moment, and that’s enough to make my rent, but just barely. Unfortunately, gas is cutting me tight this month, as I’ve been going off of half a paycheck, because my job is new and I made the payment period with only half of it having been worked, gah!
If anyone is interested in ordering art, I’m willing to give a discounted price! Please just shoot me a message, and I’ll try to do everything I can to accommodate the request! Signal boosts are much appreciated!
As always, thank you guys eternally again for all of your support and kind words! I appreciate you more than I can describe! I hope you’re all having fantastic days.
a preview wip something of a little project I’m working on
sorry it’s all very tumbleweed-y around here!
oh! I’m not that picky when it comes to sketchbooks, ehehe. right now I’m using that one from barnes & noble with the great wave cover. big enough to be functional, small enough to fit easily into my purse (so about the size of my hand all spread out?)
only sketchbook I absolutely hated was this one I had to fill out for a fundamental course. the paper was slightly slippery and didn’t hold onto graphite well, so everything smeared really grossly
dude thanks for the ask! heh
